Questions about the PARQ System.
Answers to the most common questions about setup, costs, payment, licence plate recognition, violations and data protection.
The PARQ system combines hardware on site and software in the cloud into one system. This includes cameras with licence plate recognition, signage and, if you wish, a pay station, screen or barrier. In the portal you manage tariffs, authorisations, payments and reports. You put your configuration together, we deliver it ready for use, and the site stays in your hands.
In general, it takes around 30 days from order to operation, and the software itself is set up in a few hours. The devices arrive preconfigured, and we do the setup in the portal together with you. How quickly it really goes depends on your site: where power and network are missing at the entrance, they have to be provided beforehand.
Only what is necessary for the parking session is recorded: the licence plate and the times of entry and exit. No faces, no vehicle occupants, no continuous video recording. The data is transmitted encrypted and stored only as long as necessary for billing and evidence purposes.
PARQ is a technology provider, not a parking operator. We supply parking systems and do not operate any parking areas ourselves. This means we don't compete with those who use our technology; instead, we supply them with the foundation for it. Where it fits, a partnership is also possible, for example where an operator wants to offer operation and technology together.
Yes. PARQ supplies the parking system for this: cameras with licence plate recognition, a pay station if you wish, and the portal in which you manage tariffs, authorisations and payments. Parking management stays in your hands, you set the rules and keep the income. We set up the system and remain available for technical questions.
Parking management means controlling parking on a site through rules and generating revenue from it: fees, parking duration, time windows and permissions. If parking stays free and only rules apply, this is called enforcement. A municipality can take this on for public spaces, or an owner for their car park. With PARQ you run parking management yourself: you set the rules, and the parking system applies them.
Smart parking, also known as digital parking, refers to parking systems that manage without a ticket and without staff at the entrance: cameras recognise the licence plate, payment is made via app, QR code, online, or at a pay station on request, and all data comes together in one portal. There, you see occupancy, payments and violations, and can change the tariffs yourself.
Parking management covers everything used to control a parking area: who may park, when and for how long, at what price, and how the area is actually used. In the PARQ portal, all of this is in one place: tariffs, tickets, authorisations, payments and reports, live and for all your areas.
That depends on the number of entries and exits, the payment methods, whether access has a barrier or not, and the size of the site. Cost examples for a small site, a typical site and a multi-storey car park can be found on the hardware page. You can work out an estimate for your own site in the configurator. Both are to be understood as estimates: the actual equipment and prices may differ.
Via parking apps, by QR code on the sign and online afterwards, on request also at the pay station by card, contactless or Apple/Google Pay, and with the PARQ Automat A2 also with cash. The parking session is tied to the licence plate, so no parking ticket is needed. Which of these routes apply on your site is for you to decide; all of them come together in the same parking system.
Anyone who leaves without paying can pay online for 48 hours. After that, the violation is recorded and automatically transmitted via an interface to the service provider for violation processing. Anyone who exceeds the permitted parking duration is recorded directly as a violation.
Yes. You start with what you need and add components at any time: a second camera, another pay station, a barrier or an additional area. The components are matched to one another, so new ones are added without changing the system. You set up new areas in the portal yourself.
